Unhappy Unanswered: Remote connection using ODBC

    Hi all,
I can connect to a MySQL DB in my home server (using a DNS with DynDns.org), but I'cant connect to the DB located in my hosting provider using the same ODBC driver (3.51). I use 'carlos' as login and a password.
    I always get the error:

[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver] Access denied for user: 'carlos@c-217-70-73-156.bragatel.pt' [Using password:YES]

217.70.73.156 is my IP (dynamic). How can I handle this?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks (i'm a noobie)

Did you set your login to access from any IP?

    Like this:

    Carlos@%

cuz the default, when you create a login is to set
the login to access only from the server(localhost).

    Carlos@localhost

So, you have to create a "@%" (all ip) login.

    Espero que tenha ajudado.

    Obrigado. Ajudou sim

I created a host with % and it works now. Is it dangerous? should I create the host @% instead?
