    Unanswered: Reorgchk

    Hi,
I'm new to DB2 and have a couple of questions about the reorg command. Any pointers you can share on the following would be appreciated

My databases are on version 7.1 fixpak 3 on W2K.

    1) Does REORGCHK for CURRENT statistics block users from accessing the table in question?
    2) Is there any difference between running a "REORGCHK update statistics" and a "RUNSTATS"? Is one way recommended over the other for any reason?
    3) Do I need to be aware of any gotchas while reorging a table with LOB data?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't think so; it seems to be accessing system catalog only.

The difference I believe is that when you run RUNSTATS manually you have better control over what statistics are being collected, whereas with REORGCHK you get RUNSTATS with all default values
