    Too many variables to give a proper answer as it depends on your servers, OS, network infrastructure, web app etc.

    What I will say is Oracle has been designed from the ground up for heavy loads with lots of contention unlike some other RDBMSs.

    I other words, a lot. Given enough hardware firepower (ie. processors, memory, disk) the number of users is probably virtually unlimited. Cost of course would be an issue.
