    Unanswered: sql*plus alternative

    Hello all,

    Can anybody please expalin an alternative to sqlplus for oracle on unix?
    I would really appreciate if you can tell me things that can be done in both, and things that can be done only in sql*plus

    Please tell if there is any tool (like toad) that has some real advantages over sql*plus. If so please mention some.

    it's all based on sql

    are you asking for a handy-dandy application?
    TOAD is great for looking at data and objects.
    SQL*plus is great for reports, configuring data and columns, and other things.

    Hi,

    I need some features that are tough in sql*plus but easy in toad. Basically, I am looking for some (dba/sys adm) features of sql*plus that are in toad such as running scripts ...

    good tools for Oracle dba

    Quest Central for Oracle, TOAD, Oracle Enterprise Manager comes free with Oracle also good are ErWin and ER/Studio
