    Unanswered: Dbms_sql.native

    Hi,

    A trigger in a form has a PL/SQL that consists of the following statement.

    DBMS_SQL.PARSE
    (cur, 'SELECT geo_cd,area_cd FROM TERRITORY_MASTER',DBMS_SQL.NATIVE);

    When I compile the form, it gives the following error.

    Error 512 : Implementation Restriction : 'DBMS_SQL.NATIVE': cannot directly access remote package variable or cursor.

    Any suggestions pls.

    If you do this in SQL Plus:

    set serverout on
    exec dbms_output.put_line( dbms_sql.native )

    ... you will find that dbms_sql.native = 1

    So to overcome this restriction, change your code to:

    DBMS_SQL.PARSE
    (cur, 'SELECT geo_cd,area_cd FROM TERRITORY_MASTER',1);
