Question Unanswered: query date() in format "mmm yyyy"

i store dates in my DB in the format "mmm yyyy". obviously the whole date is stored and not just the month and year. i want my query to just look for the month and year and ignore the day.

    how would I do this?
    thanks in advance

in the query put the format of the date column as mmm yyyy to display just the month and year and hide the day part

but if you want to query on the basis of mm and yy then use

month(datevalue) and year(datevalue) functions in criteria to return the specific records.
