We have Oracle installed using the /3GB switch.

When we run the AV software, we exhaust the page pool memory, and the system dies.

I'm told that the /3GB switch has to be used in order for Oracle to work correctly. The switch provide contingiouos kernal memory, but I'm told that it also cuts the amount of page pool memory in half... Does anyone know if this is true?

Has anyone had problems running AV software on systems like this? We are seeing instances where the system is looking for data and it does not exist on the page, and we're getting:

STOP 0x050 Page fault in non-fault area

I'm thinking that the AV software needs to be restarted after Oracle starts in order to account for environmental changes.
