We are on DB2 7.2 EEE and run the backups straight to tape using TSM but recently we have noticed something when running the dbadutl utility to verify the tape

Our script is below:

TIMESTAMP=`cat $DB2_TMP_LOGFILE | grep "timestamp for this backup" | tail -1 | awk '{print $NF}'`

if [ $RETURN_CODE -eq 0 ] && [[ -n $TIMESTAMP ]]
then
su - $DB2_INST_OWNER -c "db2 list history backup since $TIMESTAMP for ${DATABASE_NAME} 2>&1" | \
egrep -i "History|Timestamp|Comment|Time|----|tablespace|Location|LOG" >$DB2_TMP_LOGFILE
RETURN_CODE=$?
cat -s $DB2_TMP_LOGFILE
cat -s $DB2_TMP_LOGFILE >>$DB2_BACKUP_REPORT
if [ $RETURN_CODE -eq 0 ] && [ "${DB2_BACKUP_TARGET}" = "TSM" ]
then
su - $DB2_INST_OWNER -c "db2adutl verify full taken at $TIMESTAMP db ${DATABASE_NAME} without prompting" 2>&1 \
| egrep -i "Image|Read|WARNING|BACKUP|Node|Verify" >$DB2_TMP_LOGFILE
RETURN_CODE=$?
cat -s $DB2_TMP_LOGFILE
cat -s $DB2_TMP_LOGFILE >>$DB2_BACKUP_REPORT
fi
fi

and we have seen the following errors:

Image Verification Complete - ERRORS DETECTED: 26
./ARCPRODA.0.arcproda.NODE0002.CATN0000.200403132336 59.002

but at the bottom of the script this is the return message and return code:

WARNING only partial image read, bytes read: 28672 of 4194304
Read 0 bytes, assuming we are at the end of the image
Image Verification Complete - successful.

So are there errors or not?

thanks

Mark
