Unanswered: Response.redirect & Popup window problem

i have a main.htm for user to enter their email address. upon clicking on 'submit' button:

    - <form method="post" action="sendmail.asp">
    - i would like this actions in sendmail.asp:

    1) emailed user's input to me [ successful ]

    2) a small pop up window with acknowledge message [ successful ]
    3) main.htm remains & refreshes in the browser [ unsuccessful ]

    codes:
    response.write("<scr" & "ipt>" & vbCrLf)
    response.write("open(""msg.htm"",""message"",""wid th=400,height=250,scrollbars=no"");" & vbCrLf)
    response.write("</scr" & "ipt>")

In order to have main.htm remains & refreshes in the browser, i add an extra line at the end of the codes:

    response.write("<scr" & "ipt>" & vbCrLf)
    response.write("open(""msg.htm"",""message"",""wid th=400,height=250,scrollbars=no"");" & vbCrLf)
    response.write("</scr" & "ipt>") ]
    response.redirect "http://www.xxxxxxxx.com./main.htm"

NOW main.htm refreshes in the browser BUT the acknowledge message doesn't pop up.

Would greatly appreciate any help and advises on this. Many thanks!

Is there any way you can change the main.htm to main.asp?

If you can then you could pass a variable in the redirect like:

    response.redirect "http://www.xxxxxxxx.com./main.htm?message=show"

Then on the main.asp page you could check for message. If the message = show then have then run the message...if not...don't.
