Unanswered: Frozen DB2 (UDB v8.1) connection using Java (COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.net.DB2Driver) on Linux
Hi everyone, I have a small problem connecting to a remote DB2 Linux database from Linux.
The same code works if the code runs on the same phisycal machine as the database server. On this I use the 'COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver' driver with a 'jdbc:db2:DATABASE_NAME' connection string.
When I try to use the same code with the 'COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.net.DB2Driver' and a connection string such as 'jdbc:db2://host:port', I know is trying to connect and is correct because no exceptions happen and iif I change the port or host it does produce an error. The problem doing it this way is that the DriverMananger.getConnection method frozes and nothing seems to happen (besides the code stalling).
Would anyone know why this happens and how can it be solved.
Client OS: Linux Debian (2.2.20), JDK 1.4, All Db2 libraries on LD_LIBRARY_PATH and all db2 jars/zips on CLASSPATH
Server OS: Linux Mandrake (2.4.22) , IBM DB2 8.1. Instance with comunications setup TCP/IP, port 50000.
