I'm just starting out on DB2 coming from an Oracle background. One of my utility apps in the Oracle world was a PL/SQL procedure that when called would write a log entry to a table. This procedure was run within an autonomouns transaction which means that when committed it didn't effect the calling methods transaction.
From the information I've gathered over the past while it seems that this functionaly isn't available in DB2. How do other DB2 developers handle the logging requirement in thier applications? I'd prefer to use SQL PL since it runs on the server and the apps I'm writing need to be there for performance reasons.
