    Angry Unanswered: Like wildcard

I trying to build a parameter query to search in a memo field containing multiple words.

In the criteria I have: Like '*[Enter Description]*'

I was using the '**' to search all parts of the string. For some reason Access doesn't like it. It doesn't give me the parameter pop form and just spits out every record.

When i take out the '**' everything works, but it looks at the whole string for matches. This is not what i was looking for.

    Please help

Actually it can, because when I put my search criteria within Like '**' it works fine. I just can't get [] in to run parameter query. I don't know if the version of Access i'm using makes a difference, but I am even able to use the Find command to search a memo field. I am running access 2002

lol, hardly a genius. Just odd enough to spend my idle time reading this forum and learning a few things from the pros

Anyway, you needed to evaluate the parameter outside the qoutes.

    Have a nice weekend.
