Unanswered: Creating a database on a mapped drive

Is it possible to create a database (MSSQL2k) on a mapped drive which is not a SAN?

    Thanks,

Assuming you mean a drive that is mapped to another server on the network, you can probably do that. Unfortunately, it will probably corrupt every time you bounce either of the machines.

    So can you? Maybe
    Should you? no.

True from SQl 2K you can create database on a removable media such as CD-ROM but not on shared(mapped) drive.
