Anyway, I was wondering if there is a way to "hook" the code that controls the small progress bar in the status bar of Access so I may display it in a form (through another larger progress bar control)

i.e. During an Append or Update query, I need to show the status of the batch. Many people tend not to look down below. I just need to steal the values feeding that progress bar.

I know I could do this through some code while updating the recordset, by retrieveing record counts and record numbers, etc, etc, etc. But I would rather not add the overhead to the transaction.

Any ideas?
