    Hi,

    How do I set the database connection timeout value in the database level.

    Thanks,

    I think you have to at least change the DEFAULT profile (if you haven't configured any addt'l), and it's configured in minutes:

    ALTER PROFILE "DEFAULT" LIMIT IDLE_TIME 15

    All user's are members of this profile unless otherwise purposefully assigned to a different profile. If you have additional profiles, then you'll have to alter every one.

    Chuck's method is a good one that I also use at most of my client's sites. In order to put it into place set:

    RESOURCE_LIMIT=TRUE

    in your INITxxx.ORA parameter file. You can set it at the system level also ... alter system set ...
