    Talking Unanswered: win98 intallation problem (personal 9i)

    Hello nice people and friends
    I have a problem.
    I tried to install personal 9i for win98;
    the instalation went fine but when it started the
    - "Oracle Database Configuration Assistant"
    things went wrong a dos window with the title "sqlplus"
    started to pop on the screen
    on and off.. ...on and off........
    and so on until i forced the configuration to stop.

    does any one encounter this problem?

    CAN ANY ONE HELP ME?

    I suppose u want to create the database.
    Ur installation was not successful so it is always advisable to deinstall oracle and install it again.
    But if you just want to create the DB and confident enough to work with that then do the following things.

    There are must be an oradim utility which u need to execute in order to create an instance.
    After successfully creating the instance startup the instance and issue the create database command.
    After creating the db some sql scipts needs to be executed like catalog.sql,catproc.sql etc.
