    Unanswered: DB2 8.1 ESE Startup Error

    Hi,

    After installing DB2 ESE in Windows, when i start the control center, i get the following error message in an alert window

    [IBM][JDBC [IBM][JDBC Driver] CLI0647E Error allocating DB2
    environment handle, rc=-1.

    Could any one help me on this?.

    Also i have specfied the DB2 instance (service) to start automatically.
    But it is not starting.

    I get the following error in th db2diag.log file

    Unexpected system error 0x6 has occurred.

    I have also tried installing DB2 7.1 previously, but i'm getting the same error for all DB2 versions.

    Hi
    Check the security in windows for your user.
    The internal code 0x83000006 is for write protection.
    May be a external backup.
