    Unanswered: pseudo lock in a table

    I have Oracle 8.0.5 for NT
    sometimes when i read a table A, is fast.
    But, when another program make a complex select and i try to read the table A, the read is too slow.

    There isn't locks , but what happened?

    SET SQL_TRACE=TRUE
    then run the "slow" query
    then process the trace file with TKPROF
    then look at the output file from TKPROF to see where the time is being spent.
