    Question Unanswered: Add a package and proc revision number

    Hello !
    In order to manage revision numbers in my pl/sql package and procedure I'm using wincvs keyword substitution ($revison, $author, etc..) in comments.
    Next, to get version number in sql, I'm using a simple query with user_source table.
    It's works find until I decided to crypt my package and procedure (oracle wrap utility)

    A wrapped package have no comments so my first solution was to add a string in the first function of my package like this :

    ls_version VARCHAR(40);
    BEGIN
    ls_version := '--$Revision : 1.12 $";
    ...
    END

    In fact, the wrapper dont crypt string so I can get my version number ...

    My solution is not very simple to integrate in developer team (I know that someone will forget to add this line, etc..)

    So, i'm writing this thread to know what solution you are using ?

    Sorry fo my bad english, i hope you will understand something
