Unanswered: Sybase Installation (Win XP Pro)

Does anyone know where i can get a copy of all instructions for installing Sybase on my computer (runs on Windows XP Pro), to be used with Java applications?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

You should have received an installation guide which is simply the printed version of this:

    Thanks,

I've tried following those instructions, and i'm still getting error messages from the java program i'm running, i can access the database thru SQL Advantage, but when i try to execute a simple select statement, thru a java program i get a java.Sql exception "Connection refused". The same java program works on the system in my college!

Are you trying to run the java program from within ASE? If so, you'll need a Java ASE license (or the developer's edition of ASE).

If it's just a standalone application make sure the username and password are correct for your local instance.

Also, provide the error you are getting.
    Thanks,

    Matt
