    Unanswered: desc in dblink

    hello everybody,
    i just created a database link with this instruction:

    create database link MYDBLINK
    connect to XXXMART identified by YYY
    using '(description=(address=(protocol=tcp)(host=hostnam e)(port=1521))(connect_data=(SID=MYDB)))';

    with GLOBAL_NAMES=false.

    it works and i can SELECT/INSERT/UPDATE tables on XXXMART objects of MYDB. but i can't obtain any result from DESC command!

    "Object xxxxxxx@MYDBLINK does not exist"

    does anybody know why???

    thankx,
    matte

    DESC gives "unreliable" results when used across a DB link between different versioned databases.
    You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
    The average person thinks he's above average!
    For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
    Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.
