Unanswered: Can I Backup from v7.2 and Restore to v8.1?

We need to copy some of our DB2 v7.2 DBs to a DB2 v8.1 box for testing. I'm using a somewhat laborious method of copying the schema into an empty v8.1 database, and then exporting the data and loading it into v8.1.

Is it possible to backup the v7.2 DB and then restore it under v8.1? Are there any issues I should watch out for?

Is there another way to do this that I'm just not thinking of?

    Thanks,
    Harv

I have not done this before, but know that you can backup a V7.2 database and restore into V8 ...

I suggest a rebind of all packages to exploit V8's optimizer enhancements ..
You may also want to convert type 1 indexes to type2 ....
