    Unanswered: OS/390 and create tablespace ...

    hi all,

    when createing a database on OS/390 like

    CREATE DATABASE xxxx
    .........
    ........
    .........
    STOGROUP yyyy ;

    is it mandatory to declare the "USING STOGROUP" parameter when creating a tablespace in the same database? or the default STOGROUP yyyy of database will be used?

    CREATE TABLESPACE tttt
    IN xxxx
    USING STOGROUP yyyy -- mandatory for database xxxx ???

    thanks

    bab

    If you omit the USING block on the TS definition, the default storage group of the database will be used (assuming it exists in the database definition). I am not 100% sure, but I believe that if you omit the STOGROUP on the TS definition, you must also omit the other parts of the USING block and you will get the default PRIQTY and SECQTY allocations (12K for a 4K page size).
