    Red face Unanswered: % cpu usage for a user

    I have a very big problem when a user executes a complex query with the performance of my db. All the others users seems to stop since this user stops.

    I'd like to know if is possible to mark a cpu quote for a user as a max to help the other users to go on with their normal work.

    I've been trying with profiles but i've got no good results.

    thank you very much for your efforts.

    Profiles do work well ... ensure that you have the initxxx.ora parameter

    RESOURCE_LIMIT=TRUE

    I guess You can also configure Resource Consumer Group/Plan for this purpose.

    i managed to make profiles work but i didn't manage any improve in performance.

    The DRM (Database resource management) is present in the 8.1.5 and up versions and i 'm using 8.0.5 so it is no solution for me. It is a wonderful package, though.

    Thanks any way. :'(
