    Unhappy Unanswered: Access error...

    I created a DB in Access and sent it to a co-worker and they are getting the following error when running a basic report. Any ideas?

    A problem occurred while database was communicating with the OLE server.

    Re: Problem commincating with OLE server

    Any idea as to exactly what the database is trying to do when it gets this error?

    The report produces the error when closing and the only code I have for closing is:

    Private Sub Report_Close()
    On Error Resume Next

    DoCmd.Close
    DoCmd.OpenForm "frmreports"

    End Sub

    Library

    make sure that all of the library references you may have made are available on the other PC. I came across this before and it was due to un registered DLLs.

    Wait a second . . .

    Here's what you posted:

    Private Sub Report_Close()
    On Error Resume Next

    DoCmd.Close
    DoCmd.OpenForm "frmreports"

    End Sub

    The Report_Close event occurs when you close the report.

    So why are you issuing the DoCmd.Close ? It's closing something else. What is that something else ?

    Is it the frmreports and you are simply reopening again ?

    For clarity then, I would make that DoCmd.Close--DoCmd.Close acForm, "frmreports"

    Now, the frmReports, was it open in order for you to run the report in the first place ?
