    Unanswered: ASP Connection Pooling

    I am trying to use connection pooling with ASP and Oracle, but so far unsuccessful.

    Here is what I have done.

    * In ODBC I enabled connection pooling and set the CPTimeout to 300 seconds for the Oracle ODBC

    * Enabled connection pooling for ASP in the rtegistry by setting the value to 1:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\W3SVC\AS* P\Parameters\StartConnectionPool
    * Restarted the IIS server

    I am conencting to oracle using ADO on Windows 2000 server. (not .NET)

    Each time I execute an asp page that connects to Oracle, it opens a new connection. Even though I use

    close, the connection is retained for 60 seconds only (the parameter is set to 300 seconds).

    My observation is:

    * Connection is being retained for 60 seconds vs 300 seconds.
    * New connection is being opened for each execution.

    Can someone help me with the situation. What can I do to make it work.

    Either it is already defind in ASP code as follows:

    set dbConnection = server.createobject("ADODB.Connection")
    dbConnection.ConnectionTimeout = 5

    Otherwise, you can set the timeout in above manner.

    Hope this helps
