    Unanswered: Image /Photo

Why can't access97 show Jpg file

    error is
Microsoft access doesn't support the format of the file 'c:......jpg' so it can't load picture

The Images came from my camera

    is there a work around

what I want to do is just store the Image name in the Database

    then in the Event Current

    do something like

    Me.photo.Picture = "C:\PHOTOS\Disc1\XMAS0001.jpg"

    it works for BMP file

cause look at putting the images on the web as well and reading from the database

    Re: Image /Photo

What type of object is your photo object? There are two main objects for displaying images, the Image Object and the Picture Object. You could try either switching objects and trying your same code and see if that works, or convert your jpg image to a different format (i.e. gif) using Paint and see if that works.

    From Access Help:

Enhanced Metafile (.emf), Windows Bitmap (.bmp, .rle, .dib), Windows Metafile (.wmf) and Icon (.ico) graphics. However, you do need a separate graphic filter installed to insert all other graphic file formats listed below.

Graphic file formats requiring separate graphic filters
AutoCAD Format 2-D (.dxf) Computer Graphics Metafile (.cgm)
    CorelDRAW (.cdr) Encapsulated PostScript (.eps)
Graphics Interchange Format (.gif) JPEG File Interchange Format (.jpg)
Kodak Photo CD (.pcd) Micrografx Designer/Draw (.drw)
PC Paintbrush (.pcx) Portable Network Graphics (.png)
Tagged Image File Format (.tif) Targa (.tga)
WordPerfect Graphics (.wpg) HG Graphics Language (.hgl, plt)
    Macintosh PICT (.pct)

You can find those filters on your Office CD. Go through Control Panels/Add or Remove Software. In Office XP they're under Office Shared Features/Converters and Filters/Graphics Filters.
I'm currently using linked .jpg's and .gif's with an Image control in XP.
