    Unanswered: Select

I am sorry the subject is not getting changed.

I have a query regarding a SELECT query.
We ususally do not mention * in a select statement. But when we execute the query will it get the values corresponding to other fields also.

    Example: I have a table called A_TABLE. Which has A_Column, B_Column, C_Column and D_Column as columns.

When I execute a query like..
    Select A_Column, B_Column
    From A_TABLE
    Where.....

Will the above query also retrieve the values for C_Column and D_column.

    No,
You only get the columns that you request.
