    Red face Unanswered: Range Name

    Hi gang!

I am new to the forum as well as to Excel. Please excuse me if you think that the question is too elementary!

Can range names be used when creating charts?

Howdy! Welcome to the forum - and to Excel.

Yes, you can use range names. When you get to Data Source, click on the Series tab, and you can refer to the range that way. For more specialized charts, that is the best way to do it. I usually try to set up the chart with the actual references, then replace one named range at a time to make sure it is referencing properly.
