    Unanswered: Error 0x800D002C and 0x81360012

    Hi

Hopefully somebody can shed some light on these two error codes: 0x800D002C and 0x81360012.

Thanks in advance for any help... I'm quite new to DB2 so things like this are quite frustrating.

    ERROR 1: 0x800D002C

    IT HAPPENS:
About once or twice a day. Usually during backups, or first thing in the morning.

    WHAT I FOUND:
    IBM gives you this...
    Name = SQLM_RC_EVPATH
    SQL Code = -1618
    Description = path in use

    BLURB FROM IBM:
SQL1618N The target path of the specified event monitor is in use by another event monitor.

Explanation: The specified event monitor was created with the same target path as another event monitor. This other event monitor was activated at least once, and has left .evt and/or .ctl files in the target path. These files may be in use by application(s) that are reading the event information they contain.

User Response: If the other event monitor is currently active, deactivate it. After ensuring no application(s) are using the files it created in the target path, remove the files. Then resubmit the SET EVENT MONITOR statement.

Alternatively, recreate the required event monitor, specifying a different target path, and resubmit the SET EVENT MONITOR statement.

    Try:
    db2 get monitor switches
    db2 "select * from syscat.eventmonitors"

And check the "get dbm cfg" to see what the defaults are for the database monitors.

    Just to make sure.

    Great info.

    'db2 get monitor switches' returns:

    Monitor Recording Switches
Switch list for db partition number 0
Buffer Pool Activity Information (BUFFERPOOL) = OFF
    Lock Information (LOCK) = OFF
    Sorting Information (SORT) = OFF
SQL Statement Information (STATEMENT) = OFF
Table Activity Information (TABLE) = OFF
Take Timestamp Information (TIMESTAMP) = ON 04-01-2004 18:45:44.000047
Unit of Work Information (UOW) = OFF

... so the 'TimeStamp Information' one is the only thing that is set to 'ON'.

    When I do this:
    db2 "select * from syscat.eventmonitors"

I get an entry for "DB2DETAILDEADLOCK" in EACH of four Databases on the Instance. TWO of these have the same TARGET viz. D:\DB2\NODE0000\SQL00002\DB2EVENT\db2detaildeadloc k

I have used the following commands to remove this from all four Databases as these are just Dev boxes, but this error makes the Instance stop!!

    db2 SET EVENT MONITOR DB2DETAILDEADLOCK STATE 0
    db2 DROP EVENT MONITOR DB2DETAILDEADLOCK

Thanks a million ofr you help on this one. I will keep an eye on the Diag Log over the next few days.

    Brian.
