    Unanswered: Urgent -Can Lock Excalation on a table be disabled ?

    Hello,
    We are running on UDB 7.2 FP10 on AIX 5.2..

    Having some issues with some batch jobs, so was wondering if its
    possible to disable Lock excalation on a Table ???

    Your help will be really appreciated...

    Increase the size of the locklist (number of 4K pages) and increase maxlocks (the percent of all locks held by one application before escalation occurs). If you are sure you never want lock escalation, you could try maxlocks at 100.

    You may ned to rebind packages for this to take effect.

    Note that this affects all tables and applicaitons.

    If it's feasible for you,
    then set locksize=table
    on the tables in question.
    Then no escalation can occur.
    (I think!)
