    Unanswered: Urgent Help

    Hi,

    I have table with 20000 rows and I need to replace a particular word in one column with another word. How do I do it?

    You can use REPLACE on your target string and use the output to update the column.

    Use the Replace function and frame up ur sql statement.

    Will one update statment updates all 20000 records with the new string

    For Ex:
    See I have a comment column which has 20000 records with the following data
    'My name the Anu'

    Now I need to replace 'the' to 'is' in all the 20000 records with one single update statement. Is it possible or is there anyother way.

    I think people want you to do a little work for yourself so you can learn how to do these types of things in the future.

    Take 10 minutes and read the docs and you will be able to construct your update statement.

    You've already been lead in the right direction with REPLACE and update.
