    Unanswered: command line sybase installation

    Hi all,

I have to install sybase ASE 12.5 and I am unable to do it through the gui. I am having trouble finding a procedure for installing it and building the dbs through unix command line.

    Thanks for any help.

PS, I have to do it this way because I am going through our intranet and to a customer's machine behind a NAT firewall.

    Can't get an xterm.

You can perform the install using the resource files available in your $SYBASE/init/sample_resource_files.

The serverbuildres utility available in $SYBASE/$SYBASE_ASE/bin can be used to perform the install

    srvbuildres -r <resource_file>
