    Unanswered: Sybase Upgrade

    Hi,

We plan to upgrade a unix box runing 2.5.1 Solaris
to 2.5.8 Solaris & simultaneously Sybase 11.5 to
    12.5

For the Sybase part can someone provide a procedure
map / checklist of how to go about doing it & what
problems should we watch out for.

Also how do we do it, just upgrade sybase or
install new version of sybase & rebuilt the old
database on it from scratch on it ? Which is more
    advisable ?

    Regards,
    KS

    Re: Sybase Upgrade

Depending the administration window, the size of your Db and the available free space on the disk.

In a general manner, upgrading an OS + a DB is a risky situation.

Else, Sybase provides you all the procedures on http://sybooks.sybase.com

I would do OS upgrade first and wait for 2-4 weeks. If everything looks good, then I will proceed with Sybase upgrade as per the upgrade path provided by Sybase.
