Unanswered: Setting up tomcat so that it connects to db that requires password.

    Hey all,

If I set up my database so that you are required to enter your password. How do I set up tomcat so that it can connect to my database?

I don't want to enter my password as plain text in server.xml. What do people usually do since it's not a good idea to put ur password in a plain text file.

    Thanks in advance

1.You could specify connect string in Servlets or JSPs
    2. Or you could setup oracle account will be autenticated externaly (by OS where is Tomcat running).

If you do it that way, someone could decompile your servlet and see your password in the connect string.
