    NZ function returns Error

    I create a table called table1 with a column called test.

    Then i create this query

    SELECT nz([test]) AS Expr1
    FROM Table1;

    I get #Error on each row.

    This problem is on a new XP system with Access 2003. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program. I was notified of this bug by a client who is running a program that I have written and it is installed on over 1500 desktops, so I am pretty sure that it is something on this system.

    Does anybody have any ideas.

    BTW the left("test",1) returns a t so not all of the intrinsic function are failing, just NZ as far as I can tell.

    Alternate searches have not turned up anything. I remember a problem where chr() did not work on asp pages beacuse of a version of vbajet32.dll

    You're missing an argument.

    nz([test], ValueIfNull)

    Not true, The ValueIfNull is an optional value. The nz will return zero if the optional value is not given. This works on over 1500 desktops, just not this one . Thanks for the reply though. Any other ideas

    I have fixed it by installing the Jet 4.0 service pack 8 and then setting macros security to Low.

    Confusing but it works now.
