    Angry Unanswered: Network Error

    HI

I have started getting this message every time I open FileMaker Now. I have not changed anything and it was not there before.

"FileMaker cannot host a file because of a network error. Files marked as Multi-user will not be available over the network (10048)"

For the record there is no network....

    Thanx for any help...

FileMaker is trying to host this file every time you start up the file. If I understand things correctly this is a single user environment with no network, so the easy (and best) thing to do is to go to sharing (under File) and turn sharing to 'Single User'.

If you were trying to share this file then I would want to know what your network protocol is set to under the application prefs. I suspect that it will say none, and in most cases th eproper choice would be TCP/IP. If you have no need to share files then keeping these networking functions off will make your databases more secure to unwanted network traffic and may make FileMaker run slightly faster.

    thanks,

    Joe

Thank you to everyone who replied. Both the solutions worked....
