    Unanswered: Oracle Database Corrupt (windows2000/oracle)

    Hi,

    My oracle database is corrupt eventhough try to do restore - message files is corrupt.

    Little bit fortunate as it happen on development server.

    Pls advise as to what I need to do. Can I reinstall only Oracle.

    Appreciate for any suggestion.

    What do you mean corrupt ???
    what does Oracle tell you when you try to bring up the database

    startup pfile=.....

    Have you tried alter database RECOVER ???

    Are you in ARCHIVELOG mode ???

    Try and start the database, the cut and paste the last portion of the
    alter log here ...

    A small correction on above update its not Alter log
    its Alert<sid>.log , I am sure its a typo mistake.

    Hi Struggle..

    The way u have posted ur problem has left us with no option but to struggle with ur problem.

    So be very specific with ur question so that u can get a speedy positive answer.

    Information should be like this.
    Oracle Version, OS,Error messages, Log files, BAckup.

    This kind of info helps us a lot to analyze the problem.
