    Unanswered: executing a function

    Maybe a silly question but here it is anyways.

    Can a function only be executed by a trigger? Or are there other means of executing a function? (and if so a few hints would be nice :P)

    I think i already have the anwser to my own question.

    Its not very clear explained in most docs (or even the book i got) but as understand now, you must use a function like you would use a table.

    Select a_function('my','function');

    Then the "my" and "function" are inputs wich would relate to column values in 2 separate columns.

    Then you can play around with those inputs if you like.

    Plz correct me if im wrong, im just starting to grasp the idea behind functions in pl/pgsql.
