    Unanswered: Visible Property

I am using a bound checkbox in conjunction with the Visible property to make certain controls available to the user, for example:

    If Me!NotMiItem = True Then

    Me!Code.Visible = False

The difficulty is that once selected, this property is being applied across all of the records in the database. Setting a control visible in one record makes it visible in all. I want to apply this property individually to records.

Does anyone know what's going on?

    Thanks,

    Beeyule

sounds like you're using continuous records, in which case, no there is not a way to make controls visible in some records but not others. this is becasue the control actually only exists once, it is just displayed duplicated with different data inside it.

    here's a neat little trick:
    1. make the control with the data not visible.
    2. use a second control with an immediate if statement that decides whether or not to show the data. If your decision is complicated, use a function instead and place the code behind the form.

    Have fun.
