Unanswered: joining text fields together for display

I've got three text feilds [Title] [FirstName] [LastName]

and i want them to display on a report in one control box with a one character space between them. So i put

    [Title] & " " & [FirstName] & " " & [LastName]

but it doesn't seem to work it comes up Name?

    What am i doing wrong.

it may be a simple as adding an equals sign.

Also, to make the formatting look better I'd use the trim function.

    =trim$([title] & " " & [firstname] & " " & [lastname])

    if I use
    =[title] & " " & [firstname] & " " & [lastname]
in the report it still doesn't work and I also now get Name? where ever i display the fields [firstname] and [last name] which was working before.

    Use

    =Trim( Trim([title]) & " " & Trim([firstname]) & " " & Trim([lastname]))

Is this in a query? Did you assign it an alias?

I'm trying to use this in a report footer but the report is based on a query.
