    Unanswered: sybsystemprocs & sybsystemdb

    Dears,
    I have 2 Questions
1- How could I install sybsystemprocs DB?
2- how could I move the sybsystemdb DB out of the master device?

    - installmaster script is used to install procs in sybsystemprocs and installmodel is used to install common character sets.

    - sybase does not recommend this option as discussed below...

We do not recommend removing all fragments of all the system databases from the master device with the exception of sybsystemprocs of course

Physically moving device fragments off the master device will work but will make recovery more difficult.. ie. in the case of needing to rebuild the master device, it will initially have all pieces on master device again (tempdb, sybsystemprocs etc)... you will not be able to successfully load the master db dump until you redo all steps again to remove the fragments the same as was done previously..

my english is poor, but i wish i can help you a little

1 ,create a new db device (disk init)
2, extend db sybsystemdb to your newly db device(alter database ..)
3, drop the sybsystemdb 'sthree system segment that in master device(sp_dropsegment "default",dbname,device_name)

Avoiding point 3 make easy your DBA life in case of recovery
