Unanswered: Sybase Intel Win 2k to UNIX Solaris

    Hello,

I am about to embark on an adventure to convert an Intel Win 2k Sybase environment to a UNIX Solaris Sybase environment. Can anyone point me to any useful sites that could possibly help with:

    Sizing
    Conversion
    Methodology
    Pitfalls
    Helpful Hints
    Other Info
    ????

Are there any Win 2k settings that I need to be aware of that need to be translated to something in the UNIX environment or that would be helpful for determining sizing of the Unix environment? Bottom line is we outgrew WIN 2K and Intel does not scale to our needs. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

The database sizing would pretty much remain the same. As far as migration is concerened, take a look at sybmigrate utility(works only on 12.5.0.3 and above). If you have your original ASE CD, then Power Designer comes with, you can also use the Power Transfer plugin with PD 9.5.2 and above for schema and data migration.
