ORA-12714 invalid national character set specified

Cause: Only UTF8 and AL16UTF16 are allowed to be used as the national character set.

Action: Ensure that the specified national character set is valid.

It's a 9i requirement. The default one is AL16UTF16, so use it unless you specificaly need UTF8.

Also what good makes national character set WE8 in case your character set is UTF8? Any reason why you want to use WE8?
