Angry Unanswered: Why DB2 SQL Stored Procedure Need a C Compiler?

    Hi everyone,

Why DB2 SQL stored Procedure need a c compiler? What's the reason for this setting and its advantage (or disadvantage)?

    Thanks,

Re: Why DB2 SQL Stored Procedure Need a C Compiler?

The SQL Stored Procedure is converted into Embedded C code and precompiled, compiled etc etc ...

This is the reason you need a c compiler .

The next release of DB2, Stinger, will not need C compiler for SPs
