    Unanswered: Remote procedure call

Hello, I call a stored proc from VB6 code. This stored proc contains a remote stored proc call. The remote storedproc call causes the vberror: "Operation is not allowed while the object is closed". When i take out remote proc call everything works fine. Any idea on why this is happening?? code is below..

    ...

    Declare @flag decimal(4,2)
    select @flag=0
    Exec @flag= servername.dbname.dbo.spName @param1

    if @flag=0
    SELECT 'Message'
    else
    ...

Try using SET NOCOUNT ON in the beginning of the stored proc

hey, thanks for your feedback, but i already tried it and it doesn't work. is there any other flags that have to be used? you're right, it is because of the blank line somehow generated by the remote proc call. perhaps it is sybase bug...
