    Unanswered: vb date format

In oracle, date format is dd-mmm-yyyy. so when i m inserting records thru vb in my database, it is getting inserted without any problems.

But when i m navigating thru my records, the date text field is represented as mm/dd/yy instead of the oracle standard dd-mmm-yyyy.

And if i m updating any record, (the date field being in the form of mm/dd/yy), it is giving me an error as "invalid date".

so everytime i have to change the date to the format dd-mmm-yyyy.

isnt there any way of inserting date in any format which gets stored in the database according to the standard dd-mmm-yyyy format???????
    pls help.

You can change the format of the text box in it's properties. Use the dataformat property. Select date, and then choose the format you would like to use.
