    Unanswered: conditional statements

I have a field in a form in number format. If it is > 0.8 and < 1.0 a pop up shud say "BAD" and the field should be filled with yellow color. If greater than 1.0 , it should say " HORRIBLE" and field should be filled with red color. Also when I generate the report , the colors for the field should remain.

    thank you

Look into "conditional formatting" in the help text.

simple conditional formatting does not work. It sets the value to 1 if its greater and 0 if its not . I need the entered value to remain as it is

By "conditional formatting" I mean the "conditional formatting" option in the context menu for a text box.

It does exactly what you're asking.

    Excerpt from the HELP TEXT:
About applying conditional formatting to a control
If a control on a form or report contains values that you want to monitor, apply conditional formatting to the control to make it easier to spot. For example, you can set conditional formatting so that if an employee's salary exceeds $100,000 the field's background turns red. Or you can set formatting so that text in the City field is green and italic if a customer resides in Seattle.

conditional formatting should not change the actual value... that's a bit strange.. Is it returning the correct value with no formatting at all?

actually no .. even without formatting it rounds the value to the nearest number so if i enter 2.1 it rounds it to 2

i tried playing around with the format of the field but it doesnt seem to work
