    Unanswered: diffrent resulat when an IOT table is used (vs heap)

    A stange behavior with IOT table :

    We have a query with a jointure of about 7 tables. I duplicated one table (in an IOT table).

    We haven't the same resultat when we use IOT table (800.000 with IOT table/ 200.000 with heap table).

    We compared the two table :

    Select * from heap_table
    minus
    select * from iot_table;

    --> no rows (So, the same data in the 2 tables).

    Any explanation

    You have demonstrated that the IOT contains at least all the rows that are in the heap table. You have not demonstrated that it contains no other rows, which would require:

    select * from iot_table
    minus
    select * from heap_table;

    Since you are getting more rows returned with the IOT, this would seem to be likely to return something.

    Mysterious! But if you examine the results of the 2 queries, can you not identify what is happening?
