Hi all

I have received a dump of INSERT statements from a MySQL database which i have to import into the SQL 2000 Database.

The problem I am running into is that certain columns contains more than the maximum allowable characters for that fields, i.e. I need truncated the data when executing the INSERT statements. I cant' do this manually because there are too many to do.

I am basically executing a batch of INSERT statements in SQL Analyser, is there a way to tell SQL Server that I want it to autotruncate data if the data to be inserted is too big for that field??

Thank you.

James
